Rep. Dent’s Early Resignation

Published June 04. 2018 09:09AM

The article by Bruce Frassinelli about Rep. Charlie Dent’s resignation was very interesting. He highlighted that the 233-day departure will leave 700,000 constituents without representation until November. Some people suggest that 15th District residents voice any concerns to Sens. Casey or Toomey while they have no congressman for six months.

These individuals apparently are unfamiliar with the Constitution, because all bills to raise revenue must originate in the House of Representatives. The senators would not be involved in initial debate of these bills, and that fact would amount to taxation without representation for 15th District residents.

Dent wasn't much of a help anyway. Sad to say, we may be better off without his representation. He's much more suited to his new role as a "Fake News" analyst anyway.
Sorry Charlie
