Repairs to Middle Creek Bridge complete in Polk.

Polk Township discussed the following business this week:

• Supervisor Brian Ahner made note that the repairs to Middle Creek Bridge have been completed and the supervisors agreed to release the insurance funds to Grace Industries for the cost of the repairs.

• The township received the Liquid Fuels funds in the amount of $360,560.

Ahner said that while it looks like a big number it goes very quickly.

“Twenty-five percent of the money must go toward new equipment purchases,” Ahner said. “The rest will go to paving.”

Ahner said that he will have suggestions for which roads will be paved by the next meeting.

• The supervisors also agreed to the purchase of two new Automated External Defibrillators: one for the township building and one for the transfer station.

• New garbage permits are on sale now.
