Road rage leads to marijuana charges

Tamaqua police were on patrol at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 5 when two motorists honked their car horns to get the officer’s attention.

Both male drivers complained about the other exhibiting signs of road rage. Neither wanted the other driver cited.

However, the odor of marijuana drifting from one of the vehicles was strong enough to attract the officer’s attention. He asked the driver, Anthony Thomas Parisi, 25, of Pine Street, Tamaqua, where the marijuana was located. Parisi admitted it was under his seat, then handed the officer a sandwich bag containing a small amount of marijuana.

A search was made of the vehicle and its occupants. A passenger, Nicholas Triano, 24, of Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, had a cigarette pack containing four half-smoked marijuana roaches.

Both men were charged with possession of marijuana.
