Road work this week

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces the following area road work, weather permitting:

Carbon County

• Bowmanstown: Route 248/POW/MIA Highway East between Club Road and Center Street, lane restrictions with delays, through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• East Penn Township: Route 895/Lizard Creek Road between Dinkey Road and Morris Lane, lane restrictions with delays, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Franklin Township: Route 209 between Cherry Hill Road and Airport Road and Route 895/Lizard Creek Road, Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Kidder Township: Route 940 between South River Street and I-476, lane restrictions with delays Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Route 534 between River Road and Route 903, lane restrictions with delays Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Lower Towamensing Township: Forest Inn Road between Little Gap Road and Route 209, lane restrictions with delays Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Nesquehoning: Route 54 between Route 209 and Schuylkill County line, lane restrictions with delays Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Weatherly: Main Street between Hill Street and Rockport Road, flaggers, use caution Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Monroe County

• Hamilton Township: Bridge restriction, Route 33 between Route 209 and Route 611, Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Hamilton Township: Route 33 South between Saylorsburg and Wind Gap, lane restrictions. Expect delays and please use caution driving through the work zone, through Thursday. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Stroud Township: Route 33 North, between Route 209 and Route 611, lane restrictions, today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lehigh County

• South Whitehall Township: Route 309 at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension Overpass between Snowdrift Road and Blue Barn Road, will be closed and detoured for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s replacement of their bridge over Route 309. Route 309 will be closed and detoured from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. The posted detour will utilize routes 22, 100, and 309.

• Interstate 78 East: between Exit 49 (Route 100) and Exit 67 (Route 412), shoulder restrictions. Watch for stopped traffic and use caution when traveling in the work area, Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Interstate 78 West: between Exit 67 (Route 412) and Exit 49 (Route 100), watch for stopped traffic and use caution, Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Heidelberg Township: Route 309, Route 873 and Mountain Road. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

• South Whitehall Township: Route 309 South between Route 22 and Interstate 78, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Whitehall & Hanover Townships: Route 22 between 145 (MacArthur Road/Seventh Street) and Route 987/Airport Road, lane restrictions, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday.

Schuylkill County

• Butler & New Castle Townships: Interstate 81, Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road) and Exit 124 (Route 61), 24 hours restriction, single lane on Interstate 81 north and south from 9 a.m. Tuesday through noon Friday. Expect delays and please use caution driving through the work zone.

• Rush Township: Route 54/Lake Hauto Road, Ye Old Hauto Road and Lake Drive, through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Northampton County

Lehigh Township: Walnut Drive, between Route 248 and 946, paving, today, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Palmer Township: Route 33 North between Route 22 and Hecktown Road Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lower Saucon: Interstate 78 West, between Exit 71 (Route 33) and Exit 67 (Route 412), nighttime restriction through Friday. 7 p.m. to 5 p.m.
