Road work this week
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces the following road work this week, weather permitting:
Carbon County
• Lower Towamensing Township, Bowmanstown and Palmerton Boroughs: Route 248 MIA/POW Remembrance Highway between Bridge Street and Gap Road, pavement testing, moving lane restrictions on Route 248 east and west, Monday through Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Nesquehoning: Route 54/Lake Hauto between Route 209 and Schuylkill County line, crack sealing, lane restriction with flagging in both directions, use caution when traveling through work zones, Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Penn Forest Township: Route 903/Highway to Adventure between Maury Road and 13 Street, utility route, lane restriction with flagging in both directions, use caution when traveling through work zones, Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• East Penn Township: Route 895/Lizard Creek Road between Dinkey Road and Route 248, utility route, lane restriction with flagging in both directions, use caution when traveling through work zones, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Mahoning Township: Road name: Mahoning Mountain Road between Dinkey Road and Berger Mountain Road, utility work, Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Bowmanstown: Route 248 between Bridge Street and Northampton County line, surveying, moving lane restrictions for pavement testing, Monday through Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lehigh County
• Salisbury Township: Interstate 78 East between Exit 55 (Cedar Crest Boulevard) and Exit 57 (Lehigh Street), bridge inspection, lane restrictions, expect significant delays and use caution driving through work zones, 11/18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: between Exit 57 (Lehigh Street) and Exit 55 (Cedar Crest Boulevard), bridge inspection, lane restrictions, expect significant delays and use caution driving through work zones, 11/19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Heidelberg Township: Route 309 between Route 873 and Schuylkill County line, crack sealing, lane restriction with flagging in both directions, use caution when traveling through work zones, Thursday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• South Whitehall Township, Interstate 78 Exit 54 (Route 222) and Exit 53 (Route 309), various lane restriction on Interstate 78 and Route 309 for nighttime construction work, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Northbound ramp lane restriction on I-78 between Exit 54 and Exit 53, and Route 309 from Exit 53 through Tilghman Street Exit on Monday and Tuesday; Southbound lane restriction on Route 309 between Tilghman Street Exit to Interstate 78 merge at Exit 54 on Wednesday and Thursday.
Monroe County
• Stroud and Pocono Township: Interstate 80 East between Exit 298 (Route 611) and Exit 304 (Route 209 to Route 33), litter removal, lane restriction. Expect significant delays and use caution. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Hamilton Township: Route 209 North between Lehighton Exit and Route 33/Route 209 junction, bridge repair, lane restrictions, expect delays and use caution when driving through work zones, Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Northampton County
• Bethlehem Township: Route 22 West between Route 33 and Route 191, tree cutting, lane restriction. Expect delays and use caution driving in work zones, Tuesday through Wednesday, 9 p.m. to 2 p.m.
• Bethlehem Township: Route 22 between Route 191 and Route 512, brush cutting, lane restrictions, expect significant delays and use caution when driving in work zone, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Bethlehem Township: Route 33 South between Route 22 and William Penn Highway, bridge repair, lane restrictions, Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Schuylkill County
• Butler and New Castle Townships; Interstate 81 North between Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road) and Exit 124 (Route 61), construction, lane restriction from 6 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. on Friday expect delays and use caution driving through the work zone; I-80 South, between Exit 124 (Route 61) and Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road), construction, lane restriction from 6 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Thursday, also 6 a.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Friday, expect delays and use caution driving through the work zone.
