Ross Township to fix part of Brick Church Road

Published September 10. 2019 12:25PM

Ross Township supervisors are seeking price quotes to repair a small section of Brick Church Road.

“It’s paved now but needs to be re-built up. It has gotten worse since the water company put in new lines,” said Chairman Howard A. Beers during the monthly supervisors’ meeting on Monday.

The area to be fixed is about a 300-foot section right before the Hamilton Township line. The repair would be to the whole width of the road and includes two layers of blacktop.

“We’ve been trying to come up with a reasonable solution,” said Supervisor David Shay.

Supervisors received a $9,800 quote from Bruce George Paving and Excavating. The quote includes labor but not materials, which the township will have to provide, said Vice Chairman Tina Drake.

“I’d like to see another quote or two to see how the numbers compare,” Shay said.

The other two supervisors agreed, and a motion passed to seek other quotes.

Beers said the plan is to have this roadwork completed by mid-October.
