Rush nixes mini casinos

No mini casinos are headed Rush Township’s way after supervisors on Thursday approved a resolution that prohibits them.

On a 2-0 vote, with an abstention from Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni, the board approved a resolution to prohibit Category 4 casinos from being located within the township.

Motroni said she abstained from the vote because she didn’t know much about the matter.

Before the vote, board solicitor Chris Riedlinger said supervisors had until Dec. 31 to pass the resolution.

Riedlinger said the resolution would prohibit a casino from appearing in the township.
