Schools hold stock market challenge

Published March 06. 2020 12:32PM

Mauch Chunk Trust Company is partnering with local schools to sponsor The Carbon County Stock Market Challenge from the Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy. The sponsorship will include all third- to 12th-grade students.

Panther Valley High School and Palmerton Area Middle School tied for first place heading into the third week.

“In my many years in banking I witnessed the shortcoming in our educational system as it relates to personal finance. I’m excited about the opportunity our program provides to teach students about investing as well as the substantial curriculum we provide in personal finance,” Alan Dakey, PennCFL president, said.
