Schuylkill barn fire ruled arson
A fire that destroyed a barn in Schuylkill County has been ruled an arson.
State police fire marshal trooper John Burns, of the Frackville barracks, said a barn at 110 Sawmill Road in Washington Township, near Pine Grove, was destroyed around 5 a.m. on Monday. He said the investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally ignited. He said the barn was used as a storage facility and there were no livestock or any animals in the barn. He estimated damages at $30,000. No injuries were reported.
Burns noted that since November 2017 there has been several incendiary fires that have occurred around the Pine Grove area. The fires have occurred in vacant and unattended structures.
