Schuylkill commissioners seek bids for demolition projects

Schuylkill County commissioners are seeking bids for demolition projects.

The bids are due in the controller’s office by the end of the business day on Oct. 30, with a bid opening date of Nov. 1, and a tentative award date of Nov. 9.

The properties are 223 E. Ridge St., Coaldale; 252 Cottage Ave., Tamaqua; 70 Lakeside Ave., Delano; 1115, 1117, and 1119 E. Pine St., and 412 W. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City; 300 W. Penn St., 9-11 North Main St., 17 N. Union St., 23 N. West St., 319 Cherry St., 129 E. Lloyd St., 39 W. Coal St., 233-235 W. Oak St., and 231 W. Coal St., Shenandoah; 209 E. Biddle St., Gordon; and 461-463 W. Mahanoy Ave., Butler Township.

In other matters, commissioners approved a $59,000 fix for a wall at the county prison on Sanderson Street in Pottsville.

Stones had fallen from an inside section of the perimeter wall.

Commissioners signed a contract with Carrietti Restoration for the repairs.
