Schuylkill County court — IPP
Schuylkill County judges have placed on intermediate punishment three people charged by local police.
Andrew S. Lutz, 43, of McAdoo, was charged by Rush Township police with driving under the influence and causing accidental damage to an unattended vehicle or property on Dec. 30, 2016.
Judge Jacqueline L. Russell sentenced him to 10 days in jail, then six months on intermediate punishment for the DUI charge.
She also fined him $750, and ordered him to attend DUI school, obtain intensive outpatient treatment, and perform 20 hours of community service.
Lutz’s license was suspended for 12 months.
On the damage charge, Russell fined him $300, and ordered him to pay $500 restitution to Joe Pilla.
Gary J. Brode, 68, of Jenkins Township, Luzerne County, was charged by Tamaqua police with two counts of driving under the influence and one of disregarding traffic lanes on Oct. 21, 2016.
Russell sentenced him to six months on intermediate punishment. Broke was fined $1,000, his license was suspended for 12 months, and he was ordered to attend Alcohol Highway Safety School, obtain intensive outpatient treatment, and perform 20 hours of community service.
Jordan W. Nieves, 28, of Drums, Luzerne County, was charged by McAdoo police with driving under the influence, operating with unsafe equipment, no rear lights and possession of a controlled substance on Dec. 24, 2016.
Judge Charles M. Miller sentenced him to six months on intermediate punishment, attend Alcohol Highway Safety School, obtain outpatient treatment, and perform 20 hours of community service.
Nieves’ license was suspended for 12 months, followed by 12 months of ignition interlock. He was also ordered to submit to random drug testing.
