Schuylkill County court — probation
Two people charged by local police were placed on probation by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin.
John T. Stapleton, 56, of Tamaqua, was charged by Coaldale police with use or possession of a controlled substance, failure to notify police of accident or damage to a vehicle, accidental damage to an unattended vehicle or property, and careless driving on Sept. 19, 2017.
All but the possession charge were dropped.
Baldwin placed him on probation for 12 months, and ordered him to pay court costs and fees.
In a separate case, Stapleton was charged by Coaldale police with making terroristic threats on Feb. 22, 2017.
Baldwin placed him on 23 months of probation, and ordered him to pay court costs and fees.
Nashua A. Lopez, 21, of Freeland, was charged by McAdoo police with possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at a red signal, driving without a license, and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection on Nov. 14, 2016.
Baldwin placed him on 12 months of probation, and ordered him to pay court costs and fees.
