Schuylkill County Court — Sentencings
Two Tamaqua residents were placed on probation in rulings by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin March 20.
Sarah A. Bensinger, 27, Tamaqua was arrested Aug. 25, 2017, by Tamaqua officer Richard Bekesy and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bensinger will be on strict probation for one year for each charge, to run concurrently. She must also pay $100 to the substance abuse education fund and $50 to the criminal justice enhancement act.
Howard I. Boyer Jr., 46, Tamaqua, was arrested April 7, 2018, by Coaldale officer Charles Blesse and charged with DUI/general impairment. Boyer will be on probation for six months. He must pay a $300 fine, $100 to the substance abuse education fund, $50 to the CJEA and $75 to MCARE.
On March 22, Judge Baldwin sentenced a Hazle Township man to a state prison term, and sentenced two local men to probation.
Adam J. Matarese, 29, Hazle Township, to a state prison sentence of 15-30 months. Matarese was arrested by McAdoo officer Frederick Lahovski on July 23, 2017, and charged with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture. He must pay $113 to the Harrisburg Criminal Lab, $50 to the CJEA, $100 to the substance abuse education fund and submit a DNA sample and pay the associated $250 cost.
Jacob V. Goralewski, 22, Weatherly, was arrested by Lahovski on March 13, 2018, and charged with criminal trespass/structure, recklessly endangering and receiving stolen property. Goralewski will be on probation for three years on the criminal trespass charge, and also on one-year probation for each of the other two charges, to run consecutively. He must also pay $50 to the CJEA and pay a $50 a month supervision fee. He must submit a DNA sample and pay the associated $250 cost.
Zachary M. Drobeck, 25, McAdoo, was arrested by trooper Michael Allar, Pennsylvania State Police-Frackville on Aug. 9, 2018, on a charge of criminal mischief. Drobeck must pay $789.70 restitution to a victim, plus $50 to the CJEA. He will be on probation for 12 months, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee.
On March 38, Judge Baldwin sentence a Hazle Township man to a county prison term.
Jay R. Bullock, 43, was arrested May 2, 2017, by McAdoo officer William Curilla and charged with DUI/general impairment and driving while operator’s privileges are suspended or revoked. Bullock’s term on the DUI charge is from 90 days to two years and may participate in the work-release program. He must pay a fine of $600, $450 to MCARE, $50 to the CJEA, and $100 to the substance abuse education fund. On the second charge, he will serve 90 days, consecutive to the first sentence. He must complete the Alcohol Highway Safety School and complete a six-month outpatient substance abuse treatment.
