A New Ringgold man will serve up to two years in state prison on drug-related charges.

Richard L. Bealer, 36, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility before Judge James P. Goodman.

Additional charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance were dropped.

Bealer was charged by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office on Sept. 26, 2017.

Shawn Major, 33, of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to six to 12 months in state prison followed by 48 months of probation.

Bealer pleaded guilty before President Judge William E. Baldwin to aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and simple assault.

He was charged by Coaldale police with committing the crimes on Dec. 20, 2015.

Seven people charged by local police were placed on probation. All will also pay court costs and fees.

Elsie L. Donella, 32, of Tamaqua, was sentenced by Goodman to serve one year on probation on a charge of simple assault.

Additional charges of harassment and disorderly conduct were dropped.

Tamaqua police charged her with committing the crimes on Sept. 3, 2017.

Anthony L. German, 23, of Coaldale, was sentenced by Goodman to five years on probation on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

Additional charges of burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief were dropped.

Tamaqua police charged German with committing the crimes on Feb. 1, 2017.

Deborah A. Gulash, 48, of McAdoo, was sentenced by Goodman to 24 months on probation on a charge of recklessly endangering another person.

Additional charges of arson and risking a catastrophe were dropped.

McAdoo police charged Gulash with committing the crimes on Sept. 3, 2017.

Steven W. Schickram, 39, of Tamaqua, was sentenced by Goodman to two years on probation on a charge of resisting arrest.

Additional charges of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and dangerous burning were dropped.

Tamaqua police charged Schickram with the crimes on Sept. 22, 2017.

Nicholas Viania, 56, of New Ringgold, was sentenced by Baldwin to two years on probation, and to pay a total of $774 in restitution to two victims on two counts of simple assault.

Additional charges of terroristic threats and harassment were dropped.

West Penn Township police charged Viania with the crimes on July 8, 2017.

Michael Hooper, 29, of Ashley, Luzerne County, was sentenced by Baldwin to 12 months probation on a charge of retail theft.

An additional charge of receiving stolen property was dropped.

Rush Township police charged Hooper with the crimes on July 26, 2015.

Cody Deetz, 23, of Tamaqua, was sentenced by Baldwin to 12 months on probation on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tamaqua police charged Deetz with the crime on July 22, 2017.
