Schuylkill County court

A Schuylkill County judge has revoked the probation of a Tamaqua man charged with 34 counts of forgery.

Judge Charles M. Miller ordered Sean A. Scott, 41, to serve six to 24 months in state prison, with credit for the 65 days he served in the county jail.

Miller also ordered Scott to pay $11,584 restitution.

Tamaqua police charged Scott on July 1, 2013.

Scott was placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for two years by Judge Jacqueline L. Russell. Admission into ARD is not an admission of guilt, and if the defendant successfully completes the program, his record may be expunged.

Scott failed to comply with the terms of the program, and so his acceptance was revoked on Feb. 19, 2016.

On Aug. 17, 2016, he pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to 24 months on probation.

But he failed again to comply with the terms, so Miller revoked his probation.

Schuylkill County judges also handed down other rulings.

Daryl L. Greenawalt, 54, Lansford: Charged by Coaldale police with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes, following too closely and failing to use a seat belt on Feb. 21, 2017.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced Greenawalt to 30 days in jail, followed by 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, followed by 30 days of alcohol monitoring, followed by seven months of strict supervision, followed by four and a half years on probation.

Dolbin also ordered Greenawalt to pay $1,885 in fines, and to perform 30 hours of community service.

His sentence will begin at 9 a.m. Feb. 9.

Christy L. Catone, 29, Ashland: Charged by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence and driving the wrong way, with prosecutors withdrawing three counts of stop sign violation and one each of driving without a license and careless driving on Aug. 8, 2013.

She pleaded guilty on April 22, 2015, to driving under the influence and driving the wrong way. The remaining charges were dropped.

Miller placed her on intermediate punishment for five years, and fined her $1,525.

But after she failed to comply with the terms, Miller revoked her participation and sentenced her to 90 days to five years in state prison.

Leanna L. Vidzicki, 32, of Tamaqua: Charged by state police at Frackville with burglary, theft and criminal mischief on Aug. 13, 2015.

She pleaded guilty to the theft charge, and President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced her to the 113 days she’d already served to 23 months in jail, with immediate parole.

The remaining charges were dropped.

William McHose, 31, Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with giving false identification to a law enforcement officer; terroristic threats; unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury; and conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury on June 5, 2017.

McHose pleaded guilty to false identification, and Dolbin placed him on probation for six months.
