Schuylkill County court

A Lansford man guilty of indecent assault of a person under 13 years of age and corruption of minors will spend four to eight years in state prison, in a decision by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin on Nov. 21.

Nicholas E. Yasson, 52, was arrested Aug. 23 by Coaldale Police. Baldwin sentenced him to two to four years on each charge, to run consecutively.

Baldwin applied state sentences to additional defendants:

David J. Tavares, 33, Lehighton, was sentenced to three to six years on charges of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and exceeding maximum speed limits. He was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police in Schuylkill Haven on March 14, 2019. He must also pay fines and costs totaling $1,841, will undergo a 12-month license suspension and must perform 10 hours community service.

Allen Charles Schrader III, 26, Pottsville, was sentenced to 12 months on a charge of retail theft. He was arrested by Rush Township Police on July 15. He must also pay fines and costs totaling $390.

Joseph E. Cooper, Allentown, was sentenced to six to 12 months for possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police on July 21, 2017. His fines and costs are $150.

Michael L. Reed, 40, Coaldale was sentenced to one to two years on a bad check charge. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police March 24 and March 28. He must pay $1,665.69 restitution to M&S Hardware.

Joseph A. Pellegrino, 53, Allentown, was sentenced to one to two years on a criminal trespass charge. He was arrested by Coaldale Police April 8.
