A Slatington man who Tamaqua Police arrested three times on theft and bad check charges is headed to state prison, in a decision by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin on Dec. 26.

Shawn E. Martin, 40, was arrested on a theft by deception charge Nov. 6, 2015. He will serve one to two years in state prison and must pay $1,180 restitution to East End Fire Company. He was arrested on bad check charges Nov. 23 and Nov. 26, 2015, and must pay $445 and $655 restitution to victims. Upon release, Martin will be on probation for one year.

In a decision by Baldwin on Dec. 30, a Tamaqua woman received probation on a DUI charge.

Destiny A. Yacovelli, 24, will be on probation for six months, with a $50 per month supervision fee, and must pay $525 in fines and costs. She must complete the alcohol highway safety school and complete 10 hours community service.
