Schuylkill County Court

A Hazleton man arrested by Rush Township Police on drug charges on Aug. 23, 2017, was sentenced to one to two years in state prison in a decision by Judge Charles Miller on March 5.

Jeronto Bryan Jr., 40, was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and three counts criminal use of communication facility. He must also pay fines and costs of $150 and will be on probation for two years.

Other cases

Defendants received county prison sentences in decisions by Judge Miller on March 5:

Jasmine L. Conner, 38, Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to time served to 23 months. She was arrested by Rush Township Police on Feb. 18, 2019, on charges of criminal trespass, theft and possession of a controlled substance. She must pay fines and costs of $150 and pay $176 to the crime lab.

Valerie K. Waldron, 39, Tamaqua, was sentenced to time served to 12 months. She was arrested by Tamaqua Police on Sept. 20, 2019, on a charge of defiant trespass. She must pay a $50 fine.

Kenneth L. Dodson, 40, Philadelphia, was sentenced to nine to 23 months. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police on Nov. 14, 2013, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He must pay fines and costs of $200 plus $239 to the state crime lab.

Brian Fritz, 43, Forest City, was sentenced to three to 12 months. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police on use/possession of drug paraphernalia charges on July 27, 2019, and May 23, 2019. He was also arrested by Rush Township police on a charge of possession of a controlled substance May 25, 2017. He must pay fines and costs of $450 plus $79.99 to Verizon. He will be on probation for 12 months.

Alysha A. Hartshorn, 33, Tamaqua, was sentenced to time served to 23 months. She was arrested by Minersville Police on Aug. 28, 2019, on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. She must do 10 hours of community service and will be on probation for two years.

ARD

Judge Miller admitted two people to the ARD program. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program, and if the program is successfully completed, the person’s record is expunged.

Ashante A. Davis, 33, Tamaqua, was arrested by Tamaqua Police on June 19, 2019, and charged with criminal mischief, damage to property. She must pay $350 to defray the cost of ARD, a $50 fine, and $491 restitution to a victim. She must also do 10 hours community service.

Kaine M. Mease, 23, Coaldale, was arrested May 20, 2019, by Coaldale Police, and charged with tampering with/fabricating physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He must pay $350 to defray the cost of ARD, plus $200 in fines and costs, and he must do 10 hours community service.
