Schuylkill County OKs EMA training

Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved the county Emergency Management Agency’s request to send three employees to a national training conference.

The employees, David Carichner, Jeffrey Finlay, And Leo Sokoloski, are members of the East Central Task Force Incident Management Team.

Commissioners approved their attendance to the 2017 annual All-Hazards Incident Management Team Training and Education Conference held in San Diego, California from Dec. 4 through Dec. 8.

The conference will provide critical information on lessons learned and best practices developed by other All-Hazards Incident Management Teams.

All costs associated with the conference, including fees, lodging, airfare, travel and meals, are allocated through the Homeland Security grant program.

In other matters, commissioners accepted the resignation of Anthony Prudenti of New Ringgold as Schuylkill County’s at-large representative from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Metropolitan Planning Organization board.

Prudenti’s term expires on June 30, 2018.
