Schuylkill crash investigated

One driver was cited following a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:38 p.m. on Monday along Route 61 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Emma Ruiz Zamudio, 24, of Shenandoah, was stopped in the left southbound lane attempting to enter a service station lot when her 2013 Hyundai Elantra was struck in the rear by a 2012 Nissan Rogue driven by Naomi F. Mullin, 27, of Pottsville, who said she was unable to stop.

Mullin, Zamudio and her two passengers, Roberto Juarez, 25, of Shenandoah and an infant male, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Mullin for driving at an unsafe speed.
