Schuylkill League basketball playoffs set
The Schuylkill League basketball playoff schedule has been set.
The Panther Valley boys, who defeated Marian on Friday night to clinch the Division 3 title, will take on Pottsville at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the second semifinal game at Martz Hall. The Crimson Tide captured the Division 1 crown. The other boys semifinal contest pits Division 2 champion Lourdes against the Division 1 wild card winner, Blue Mountain. That game will be played at 6 p.m.
On the girls side, Lehighton and Pine Grove will face each other this evening in a tiebreaker for the Division 1 wild card. Both teams finished with 10-4 records in the league. The winner of that game, which will take place at Blue Mountain at 6:30 p.m., will face Division 3 champ Mahanoy Area in Wednesday’s first semifinal game at 6 p.m. at Martz Hall.
The second girls semifinal, which is scheduled to start at 7:30, features Division 1 champ North Schuylkill against Minersville, the winners of Division 2.
The championship round will be held on Friday at Martz Hall. The girls game begins at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7:30 p.m.
