Schuylkill prison board fires guard

Schuylkill County’s Prison Board at a special meeting Tuesday fired a corrections officer for violating prison policies.

The board met in a lengthy executive session before voting unanimously to fire Michael Dolan.

Sheriff Joseph G. Groody moved to terminate Dolan “based on his behavior and violation of prison policy.”

Dolan was hired on Dec. 16, 2000, said Warden Eugene Berdanier.

The board would not say what, specifically, Dolan did or did not do that resulted in his termination.
