Schuylkill woman faces assault, child endangerment charges
A woman is facing assault and child endangerment charges following an incident in Rush Township.
Township police said at 10 p.m. June 4, they received a report regarding an assault that occurred on West Main Street in Quakake. Officers responded and discovered that Malayasia Whitaker, 44, had assaulted a 67-year-old man and had also bitten a minor.
Charges were filed and a warrant was obtained for Whitaker. She turned herself in at police headquarters on June 6. She was arraigned by on call District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, and was committed to the Schuylkill County prison in lieu of $7,500 straight bail.
