Scott will participate in track and field at Alvernia

Jim Thorpe High School senior Jason Scott will continue his academic and athletic careers at Division 3 Alvernia University in Reading.

Scott will major in finance and compete as part of the Alvernia track and field team.

Scott was a four-year member of the track and field team at Jim Thorpe where he competed in the javelin, discus and shot put. Among Scott’s highlights were first place finishes earlier this season in the discus at both the Tamaqua Blue Raider Invitational and the Jim Thorpe Invitational track meets.

In addition to track, Scott has played both football and basketball at Jim Thorpe. Among his other school activities are National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Scholastic Scrimmage, and Student Council.

Jason is the son of Jeff and Kelly Scott.
