Seat belt check in Tamaqua

  • Empty

Tamaqua Police conducted a seat belt 4x4 minicade on Oct. 27 as part of a statewide Teen Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization effort. Patrolmen Michael Hobbs and Christian DeAngelo selected the Tamaqua vs. Marian football game as their targeted high volume roadway, setting up in front of the Tamaqua Area Senior High School. Their goal was just to be visible reminders to buckle up. The mobilization effort was held Oct. 16 through Oct. 27 in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. During the week, Tamaqua Police issued nine seat belt and child passenger safety citations. KATHY KUNKEL/TIMES NEWS
