Select the most-qualified candidates

Published October 31. 2019 01:44PM

After monitoring the Clerk of Courts situation at our county courthouse in Jim Thorpe and having become skeptical of politicians in general, we need to further qualify our candidates in a bipartisan perspective.

This is not the time to get caught up in the respective party politics. Rather, we must vote our conscience and select the most qualified candidates. We should cross party lines to select the best possible community stewards.

The attributes that have garnered my attention are job execution, competence, integrity, ethics, honesty, a leadership acumen and fiscal responsibility.

After having interviewed a variety of candidates and having monitored the incumbents’ achievements, several deserve our support. That said, our next controller must provide county oversight for all departments with fiscal, operational and IT infrastructure competence. In his role as IT supervisor, Thomas McCall has interfaced with a $5 billion company providing both software and hardware integration on time and under budget. He has maintained data confidentiality without question.

Consider the McCall family record of community service. Tom offers the same moral fiber with a service to our community acumen. Tom will bring this county into the digital age while installing the protective measures for our personal information and data integrity.

I do urge all voters to support Mr. McCall and all candidates who have done a good job for our county.

Respectfully,

D. Christopher Brisbane

Penn Forest Township
