Slatington Borough Council

Slatington Borough Council took the following action:

• Adopted a resolution of the Northwest Lehigh County Comprehensive Planning Group authorizing an application to the Pennsylvania Municipal Assistance Program, and authorized council President Dan Stevens to sign the Intermunicipal Planning Agreement, contingent on the borough paying its portion of $10,227 over a two-year period.

• Approved obtaining pricing of up to $2,000 for landscaping improvements to Slatington Memorial Park.

• Approved Thomas Bartholomew to the Sewer Authority for a five-year term. There is still one vacancy on the authority.

• Adopted amendments to an ordinance pertaining to places where on-street parking is prohibited at all times.

• Agreed to have the borough solicitor prepare a resolution for the possible sale of a Durango and Crown Victoria (parts car).

• Approved the application for use of facilities for the St. Luke’s Hospice Bike Ride to benefit St. Luke’s Hospice on June 2.

• Approved a letter from Jagger Bolton concerning his Eagle Scout Project at the Springside fish hatchery.

• Approved the Northern Lehigh Class of 2020 Duck Race fundraiser per Tayler Urban.
