Slatington Council election results

Russell W. Hallman, Jason Ruff and Michael Brogan Sr. are the top vote-getters for the four-year term on Slatington Borough Council.

Hallman received 359 votes; Ruff, 343 votes; and Brogan, 210. Melvin Gildner, who was appointed to council earlier this year, had 173 votes. There were 229 write-ins.

Daniel Stevens and Bryon Reed are the top vote-getters for the two-year term on council.

Stevens garnered 323 votes, with Reed getting 309 votes. Brogan had 206 votes, with Gildner getting 173 votes.

Ruff, owner of the Charlotte Fay’s Main Street Diner, joined council after Gwyneth Jones resigned early this year.

Stevens, owner of the Antique Corner store, had previously served on council for eight years and had been appointed board president.

The “Team Slatington” candidates said previously they will focus on the borough’s finances.

Republican Walter Niedermeyer retained his position as mayor. He was unopposed in the election.

Reta M. Stein was unopposed for tax collector.
