Slatington driver in Lehigh crash

A Slatington driver was involved in a crash on Monday at 7:43 a.m. at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Brookside Road in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said George R. Hildenbrandt, 74, of Slatington, was attempting to make a left turn from Hamilton Boulevard onto Brookside Road when he turned in front of a vehicle operated by Jose A. Santos-Gonzalez, 29, of Allentown, who was eastbound on Hamilton Boulevard. The front of Santos-Gonzalez’s 2012 Honda Civic hit the front passenger side of Hildenbrandt’s 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck.

Santos-Gonzalez reported minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention. Hildenbrandt was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Hildenbrandt was cited for the crash.
