South takes lead in Senior Games

It’s week two of the 2019 Carbon County Senior Games and South Carbon County seniors have taken the lead.

After eight events, Lehighton and Palmerton, have a slim lead over the North with a combined score of 482.

But North Carbon County seniors, made up of Jim Thorpe, Panther Valley and Weatherly, are still making it a tight race, with a combined score of 461.

Monday’s events including bowling and Ping-Pong.

Bowling

Men’s results by age group:

• 60 to 64: Dale Walck of Lehighton, gold; Dave Getz of Jim Thorpe, silver; and Jerry Reed of Lehighton, bronze.

• 65 to 69: George Mathews of Panther Valley, gold; James Ketchledge of Lehighton, silver; and Larry Klotz of Lehighton, bronze.

• 70 to 74: Frank Carazo of Palmerton, gold; Robert Leffler of Lehighton, silver; and Duane Costenbader of Palmerton, bronze.

• 75 to 79: James Kindrew of Palmerton, gold; James Laverick of Jim Thorpe, silver; and Bill James of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• 80 to 84: Dale Evans of Lehighton, gold; Ron Bowman of Lehighton, silver; and Henry Long of Lehighton, bronze.

• 85 to 89: Charlie Messina of Lehighton, gold; and Harold Hawk of Lehighton, silver.

 

Women’s results by age:
