Published May 30. 2018 08:52AM

A St. Clair man was charged by Tamaqua Police after a disturbance call on May 11, even though he wasn’t involved in the disturbance.

Officers were called to Hazle Street, Tamaqua, by a woman who was upset about her granddaughter’s refusal to leave the home. They found a man and a woman standing on the porch, visibly under the influence of something.

The man, later identified as Timothy A. Reed, 32, of St. Clair, fumbled around trying to find his identification card and continued to place his hands in his pockets after told repeatedly to keep them where the officer could see them.

He admitted having syringes in his back pack. The back pack also contained a locked metal box, which Reed claimed to have just found in the alley behind the house. He said he didn’t have the key.

However, the key was found in his front pocket. Inside the box was a bag of suspected marijuana, a pouch containing an off-white powder, 19 more syringes, a scale, cut straws with powder residue, rubber bands, baggies and two glass pipes.

Reed was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
