St. John’s annual clothing giveaway begins Thursday

The 21st annual clothing giveaway at the Lutheran Church of St. John, 319 South Ave. in Jim Thorpe, will begin this week at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The dates and times are as follows: This Thursday and next, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; this Friday and next, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and this Saturday and next, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program has been changed to only two weeks this year.
A wide variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, outerwear and shoes plus small household items, books, toys, linens are also available. All items are free of charge.

Volunteers have worked countless hours sorting, sizing and getting items ready for the public to make “shopping” a good event for all, and they are now ready for opening day on Thursday.
