Reporter
Kristine Porter has been a reporter for 17 years, and with the Times News since August 2015. Her stories cover a plethora of topics, but mostly focus on business, health issues and the occasional religious topic.
With a natural curiosity for just about everything, Kristine loves being a journalist and meeting people from a variety of backgrounds. She’s a firm believer that every life has a story, and loves hearing all about them.
When not working, Kristine enjoys gardening, bicycling, and doing genealogical research. Even the stories of dead people are interesting to her.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies at the University of Maryland University College and still loves legal issues, but found journalism by accident. It was fun, so she followed up with an associate’s degree in journalism from Northampton Community College. One day, she plans to get a master’s degree, but that chapter is yet to be written.
