State Park activities
The following activities are planned for Tuscarora State Park in Barnesville, Schuylkill County.
• On Sunday, join park naturalist and DCNA conservation volunteer “Pap” Knauss on the “spirit of Tuscarora trail” at 10:30 a.m. to search for summer wildflowers. The trail is 4.5 miles long and moderate in difficulty. The trail winds through several diverse habitats with a beautiful view of the Tuscarora Lake cove. There will also be a stream crossing. Meet in the upper beach parking lot near the trail head and bring a lunch. Shine only.
• On July 29, at 10:30 a.m., join naturalist Robin Tracy on the Crow, Lake View and Spirit trails. The hike is 9 miles long and moderate in difficulty. This hike combines the best of the trails in Tuscarora State Park. Meet in the Crow Trail parking lot off Tuscarora Mountain Road. Call Tracey at 570-467-2506 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for more information or weather conditions. Shine only and bring a lunch.
These two events are dog friendly hikes but all pets must be leashed and get along with other pets and people.
