State police at Frackville report crashes
State police at Frackville reported on the following incidents:
• State police said a vehicle needed to be towed from the scene of an incident at 8:29 p.m. Feb. 13 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township after a vehicle hit potholes and sustained two flat tires.
Police said Darlene D. Kellner, 55, of Drums, was driving the 2014 Mazda Miata northbound and was traveling in the right lane of travel at approximately 65 mph when it struck a series of potholes. Police said the impact caused the two driver’s side tires to go flat and the impact also caused the air bags to deploy.
Kellner was not injured.
• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident reported at 9:10 p.m. Feb. 22.
It happened along High Road in Cass Township.
Police said the driver of a dark-colored Jeep Wrangler deliberately drove over a stop sign at the intersection of High Road and North Maple Avenue, then continued east on High Road.
The estimated damage to the stop sign is $50.
• Duane S. Kline, 62, of Ringtown, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 4:49 p.m. Feb. 20 on Phineyville Road in East Union Township.
Police said he was driving a 2007 Subaru Legacy northbound when it traveled off the east side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle continued to strike a utility pole, causing disabling damages.
Police said he was cited in the crash.
• Police said a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado overturned onto its roof after it crashed at 2:48 a.m. Feb. 23 on the Nuremberg Road in East Union Township.
Police did not identify the driver of the vehicle but said it was westbound and negotiating a right turn in the roadway when the vehicle crossed the double yellow lines, continued off the roadway and struck an embankment, causing it to overturn counterclockwise, making a half-turn onto its roof.
Police said there was no driver around the vehicle when they arrived at the scene, but the driver will be cited.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
