State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers recently.

A one-vehicle crash occurred at 2:26 p.m. on Feb. 7 along Spruce Hollow Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Brian Nesfeder, 42, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck southbound and traveling too fast for conditions while negotiating a left-hand curve on a snow- and ice-covered road. Nesfeder lost control causing the truck to enter the oncoming lane and then onto the east shoulder where it impacted with a concrete culvert with the passenger side front tire.

Nesfeder was not injured but the truck had to be towed from the scene. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 2:35 p.m. on Feb. 11 along Trachsville Hill Road, just north of Woodchuck Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Christopher E. Coles, 54, of Lehighton, was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty northbound when he drove over ice and slush on the road. The Jeep went onto the east berm and onto a bank. It then continued north, striking a stump before coming to rest facing east on an embankment.

Coles and his passenger, Janice L. Coles, 52, same address, were not injured.

Troopers investigated a second crash at the same location and day, at 5:37 p.m. Abigail R. Emes, 20, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2000 Subaru Forrester northbound when her vehicle traveled over moving water causing her to lose control. The Subaru began to travel off the east side before traveling across the road and striking the guide rail. Emes was not injured.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:48 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Route 209 and Harrity Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Scott A. Heckman, 40, of Parryville, was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 209 while a 17-year-old girl from Jim Thorpe, driving a 2012 Ford Focus, made a left-hand turn from 209 onto Harrity Road. She made the turn without having adequate time to do so and struck the Jeep with her Ford, troopers said.

The teen was injured and taken to the Lehighton hospital by Palmerton ambulance. A passenger with the teen, Alexis R. Capria, 18, of Albrightsville, and Heckman, were not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Troopers cited the teen for the crash.
