State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on the following incidents:
• State police arrested a 33-year-old Bethlehem man on a warrant in the state of Maryland. Police said the man was stopped at 1:14 p.m. Oct. 14 at the intersection of Interchange and Harrity roads in Franklin Township for speeding. When it was learned the warrant was out for his arrest, the man was taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning.
• Harold Speth, 62, of Kunkletown, was arrested on a charge of recklessly endangering another person after an incident at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 10 along Jonas Road in Polk Township. State police said victims in the incident are a 36-year-old Hawley man, and a 23-year-old Kunkletown man. Police said Speth was an occupant in a car and threatened and struck the driver.
• A 26-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash at 7:38 p.m. Oct. 16 Monday at 1226 Valley Road East in Polk Township. Police were dispatched to the crash and found the driver of the vehicle walking around, saying he was uninjured and refusing emergency medical services treatment. Police said the vehicle was on its driver’s side in the driveway. After speaking with the operator, police said tests were completed and the man was taken into custody for DUI. He was transported to the Monroe County DUI Center for blood tests. Results are pending.
