State police at Lehighton
State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers.
• On Sunday a traffic stop was conducted along Lehigh Drive in Palmerton at 12:25 p.m. The driver, a 37-year-old man from Slatington, who troopers declined to identify, admitted to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed.
• Also on Sunday, a 1:05 p.m. a traffic stop was made along Route 248 westbound in Bowmanstown for a traffic violation. The trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Marijuana was found in the vehicle. As a result the 22-year-old man from Stroudsburg, who troopers declined to identify, will be charged.
• Edward Samler, 47, of Jim Thorpe, is facing counts of harassment following an incident reported on Feb. 4 around 1:30 a.m. State police said Samler was charged for an incident along White Oak Road in Towamensing Township in which an altercation with a 35-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, both from Lehighton, turned physical. Charges were filed.
