State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the following incidents:
• A theft was reported to police at 1:18 a.m. Jan. 23. Police said a 71-year-old woman from Palmerton is the victim in the case, which happened in the area of Clearview Drive in Towamensing Township. Police said between Jan. 20 and 23, someone stole $300 in U.S. currency from the woman.
• A burglary was reported at 10:14 a.m. Monday along Gower Road in Eldred Township. The victim is a 54-year-old Kunkletown woman who reported that someone entered her garage, rummaged through drawers and stole a Stihl chain saw valued at $400 and a Panasonic stereo worth $75.
• A 55-year-old man from Jim Thorpe reported that someone broke a passenger’s window on his vehicle while it was parked along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township sometime between Feb. 10-11. Damages are estimated at $250.
• A 15-year-old boy who walked into the woods in Eldred Township around 4:10 p.m. Feb. 6, returned to his home about six hours later after he was reported missing. State police were summoned to the incident after it was reported the boy exited his residence along Pine Grove Road and walked into the woods shortly after 4 o’clock. He was declared missing around four hours later, only to arrive back at his home at 10 o’clock that night.
