State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton report on the following incidents:

• A traffic stop made by state police at the Lehighton barracks resulted in a New Jersey woman being arrested for driving under the influence.

It happened at 9:30 p.m. July 8 at the intersection of Route 209 and Burger Hollow Road.

Police said after stopping the tan-colored Honda Accord it was determined the woman was under the influence of an unknown substance. Police did not release her name.

• Two vehicle sustained minor damages in a mishap that happened at 11:16 a.m. July 11 on Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 2005 Jeep Liberty traveling in the right land of traffic failed to stop for a 2014 Nissan Maxima that was stopped in front of it, and the Jeep struck the rear of the Maxima.

The vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. No one was injured in the mishap.

• State police said the owner of a dog that got loose and bit another dog was issued a citation for violation of the state Dog Law.

The incident happened at 5:04 p.m. July 6 in the 100 block of Bayberry Road in Penn Forest Township, resulting in a Jim Thorpe woman being issued the citation. A second Jim Thorpe woman is listed as the victim on the incident report.

In a second report, police said a woman from Gilbert was also cited for a dog law violation after an incident at 5:52 p.m. June 27, at 3000 Mountain View Drive in Polk Township.

Police said the woman’s dog got loose from the residence and ran to the edge of the property after another dog. In this case, a Gilbert man is listed as the victim. Their names were not released.
