State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at the Lehighton barracks have reported on the following incidents.

• A 70-year-old Lehighton man is the victim of the theft of a check. Police said the theft took place back on July 20 along Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

• State police are investigating a theft that happened between 3:40 p.m. Thursday and 6:40 a.m. Friday in Polk Township. The victim is the Asplundh Tree Expert Company. The theft took place in the area of Interchange and Mill Pond roads in the township.

• The theft of an LG G6 cellular telephone at the Palmerton Area High School, Lower Towamensing Township, is being investigated by state police. The victim is a 42-year-old Palmerton man who reported someone took his son’s phone. His son is a student at the school. Police said there are a few suspects in the case.

• At 3 p.m. Sept. 19 a Kunkletown man reported that someone used his credit card to purchase items online through the Home Depot website. State police are investigating the incident, which happened on Upper Green Hill Road in Polk Township.

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that happened between 6 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Bake Oven parking lot, East Penn Township. The victim is a 44-year-old Royersford man. Someone shot out the driver’s side window and a small rear window of his 2015 Ford F-150 pickup that was parked in the lot overnight.

• A 35-year-old Fleetwood man wrote out a check from an account that had insufficient funds in it. The victim is the Palmerton Lumber Company in Lower Towamensing Township. The incident was reported at 10:06 a.m. Friday. Police said they have not been able to contact the suspect.

• State police said someone reportedly dumped 100 tires on a property in Polk Township between Sept. 1 and Oct. 17. The victim is a 72-year-old Polk Township resident who lives in the area of Jonas Road. Police said she reported someone dumped 40 tires on her property in one instance and then dumped another 60 tires there some time later. There are no suspects in the case, however, police said they have a lead from a sticker left on a tire.
