State police at Stroudsburg investigate incidents

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks are investigating the following incidents:

• Police reported that a 50-year-old man from East Stroudsburg is wanted for questioning in multiple retail thefts at multiple liquor stores in Monroe County, the latest of which happened at 1:10 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Total Wine and Spirits store, East Stroudsburg, where he was caught on surveillance footage.

Police said the video shows the man placing a 750 mL bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Rye valued at $48.99 in the front of his pants, proceeding to the counter with a second bottle that he paid for, and then leaving the store while continuing to conceal the first bottle of liquor.

• State police are investigating a burglary that happened between 5 p.m. Nov. 23 and 1 p.m. Dec. 28 at a home in Hamilton Township. The victim is a 48-year-old man from Sciota.

Police said someone gained entry to the residence at Meadow Lake Road and Hamilton Road South by force. The suspect damaged multiple items within the residence and stole miscellaneous items varying in value.
