Summit Hill man facing gun counts
A Summit Hill man is facing firearms charges following an incident on Jan. 21.
Borough police said at 2:05 a.m. officers were dispatched to a report of someone sitting on a guide rail along Route 902, between the top of the hill and White Bear Drive. On scene officers found Talon Wesly Lewis, 20, of 17 W. White Bear Drive.
He told officers he was walking to Nesquehoning when he twisted his right ankle. Police noted that previously it was brought to the attention of the department that Lewis recently obtained a handgun. He was then handcuffed for the officers’ safety. Before being searched, Lewis admitted to officers he had a handgun in one pants pocket and a magazine in another. Police found a P38 9 mm handgun and a magazine containing two 9 mm rounds.
Lewis is underage and not able to obtain a concealed carry license. It was also learned that Lewis has a prior conviction for robbery which prohibits him from carrying a firearm.
As a result police charged him since as a convicted felon, he is not permitted to carry a firearm, and also for carrying a firearm without a license.
Officer Todd Woodward filed the charges.
