Summit Hill preparing for the bitter cold

Published January 29. 2019 11:23AM

Summit Hill borough workers will deviate slightly from their normal snowplowing routine for today’s snowstorm.

The borough council said on Monday that after the regular plowing for today’s storm, it will immediately begin curb-to-curb plowing.

The side of the street regularly plowed first during curb-to-curb plowing will be the first to have the operations done.

As soon as one side of the street is finished, borough crews will clear the opposite side providing vehicles are moved.

Council said the change is because of the bitter cold weather anticipated on Wednesday and Thursday.

The intent is to have the plowing finished before the anticipated polar vortex affects the region.
