Mahoning Township Police Department is attempting to identify an individual they say passed several counterfeit $100 bills at Walmart.

Police said the incident occurred at 11:01 p.m. March 19.

Police ask to tip submissions via their Facebook page or by phone 570-386-2241, and to reference case number 239-2019.

If I were working at WallsMart, and someone handed me a $100 bill at 11pm at night, I would scrutinize it very carefully. Seems like in this day and age identifying a fake should be possible with training and diligence.
Every major store chain should require a customer to break down large bills at customer service using a counterfeit bill detector.
