Tamaqua’s Beck enjoys strong season at Dickinson

Tamaqua graduate Jenny Beck was eighth in the heptathlon at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships held last month at Muhlenberg College. She had a strong showing with a first-place finish in the shot put (9.47m), placed third in the javelin (21.26m) and fifth in the 800-meter run (2:44.16). She was 14th in the open shot put (9.32m).

Beck set a personal-best in the shot put with a throw of 9.40 meters at the Messiah-Multi Event in April. She earned second-place points in the 800 with a time of 2:52.32.

She tied for third in the high jump and fourth in the long jump, clearing 1.32 meters and 4.05 meters, respectively. Beck was third in the javelin event with a throw of 20.78 meters to finish with 2,515 points overall to capture bronze, qualifying for the Centennial Conference Championships in the process.
