Tamaqua’s Holland headed to ESU

Tamaqua’s Khalid Holland will continue his athletic and academic career at East Stroudsburg University where he will participate in track and field.

Holland will compete in the pole vault for the Warriors.

A four-year member of the varsity squad, Holland was a state medalist (eighth) in the event a year ago, and made it to Shippensburg again this season.

In addition to track and field, Holland was also a member of the Raiders’ wrestling program for four years, and on the soccer team for three. Holland was a Times News Second Team All Star for wrestling this past season.

Holland is also active outside athletics, as a pre-school assistant teacher at New Life Assembly of God in Tamaqua.

The son of Brigette Shinton, Khalid will study health and physical education at East Stroudsburg.
