Tamaqua board reorganizes

Tamaqua Area School Board will once again function under the same leadership next year.

Long-standing Director Larry Wittig was reappointed as board president on an 8-0 vote during the school board’s annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday. Director Daniel Schoener was absent.

The board also reappointed Director Thomas Rottet as board vice president.

In addition, the board’s newest director, Nick Boyle, was sworn in and took his seat on the board.

The board set its 2018 meeting schedule and will continue to hold workshops on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., and regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
