Tamaqua concert series returns
The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the lineup for the 12th edition of its popular summer concert series. Concerts will be held on the platform of the Tamaqua Railroad Station, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., on select Thursdays through Aug. 30.
Shows are held weather permitting and are free to the public. The Restaurant at The Station has tables available on the platform for reservations for dinner and drinks the evenings of the concert, or people are welcome to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy an evening of musical entertainment. This year’s line up features several newcomers as well as returning favorites.
The summer line up will be:
Thursday: Clayton, Tom & Dee, classic rock with a twist, sponsored by Heisler’s Dairy Bar
June 7: Tom Storm, classic rock with a soulful edge, sponsored by Manda Smarr
June 14: Island Time Lite, Jimmy Buffet-style summer music, sponsored by Lehigh Carbon Community College
June 21: Magic Stew, classic rock/jam, sponsored by Zeigler’s Towing
June 28: Six To Midnight, acoustic ’90s and classic rock, sponsored by Bowe and Odorizzi Law Offices
July 12: It Takes Two, top 40s and classic good-time oldies, sponsored by Cal’s Tire & Auto
July 19: Shellshocked Churchills, classic rock, sponsored by Dan and Becky Odorizzi
July 26: Big and Bad Rockabilly Cats, hillbilly rock, sponsored by the Tamaqua Station Restaurant
Aug. 2: Buddy Musselman, classic rock and outlaw country, sponsored by St. Luke’s University Health Network
Aug. 9: The Fat Cats, rock ’n’ roll, sponsored by the Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau
Aug. 16: Magic Stew, classic rock/jam, sponsored by Versum Materials;
Aug. 23: The Bees Knees, ’60s rock and the British invasion bands, sponsored by M & T Bank;
Aug. 30: Gene Morrison, oldies and the classics, sponsored by the Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau;
