Tamaqua district court
Most of the defendants scheduled for preliminary hearings on July 10 before District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, elected to have their cases heard in the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas. That is, all but one who decided to skip the hearing altogether and another who had the charges dismissed.
Savannah Searfoss, 21, of McAdoo, failed to appear in court and had the charges against her automatically sent to the higher court. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia by Rush Township patrolman Michael Weaver. The charges stem from a June 3 incident.
A warrant was issued for her arrest.
Travis Kyle Christman, 26, of Coaldale, had a charge of harassment dismissed.
Waiving their cases to court were:
David Ruben Green, 66, of Tamaqua, charged with possessing an instrument of crime, theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and prowling at night. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Thomas Rodgers in connection with a June 15 case.
Green was released on his own recognizance:
Nicole Baer, 30, of Tamaqua, charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Tamaqua’s Officer Rodgers. The charges stem from a June 16 case.
Baer was released on her own recognizance:
Jacqui Marie Lehman, 45, of Auburn, charged with retail theft by Trooper Marshall Hummel of the Schuylkill Haven state police. The incident happened on Dec. 16, 2017.
Lehman was released on $2,500 unsecured bail:
Robyn L. Erney, 26, of Tamaqua, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false identification to law enforcement. The charges stem from a May 18 incident and were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Timothy Walsh.
Ernery was released on her own recognizance:
Michael A. Mattox, 26, of Tamaqua was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement in connection with a July 1 case. The charge was filed by Tamaqua officer Rodgers.
Mattox also had a case with Tamaqua patrolman Walsh, from May 18. Those charges were possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false I.D.
Mattox was released on his own recognizance in both cases:
Francis R. Styka, 48, of McAdoo, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving by trooper Michael Van Buskirk of the Frackville state police. The charges stem from an April 10 incident in Kline Township.
Styka was released on his own recognizance:
Sean William Snibbe, 34, of Tamaqua, charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct after a June 5 incident. The assault charge, filed by Tamaqua patrolman Karl Harig, was withdrawn.
Snibbe was released on his own recognizance:
Justin R. Moyer, 32, of Coaldale, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Coaldale patrolman James Bonner after an April 26 incident.
Moyer was released on $10,000 unsecured bail:
Enrique Ortiz Jr., 48, of Barnesville, charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, driving DUI under suspension, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and disregard of a traffic lane. The charges were filed by Coaldale patrolman Charles Blesse after a Sept. 9, 2017, incident.
Ortiz was released on his own recognizance:
Angela Edwards, 32, of Allentown, will go to court on charges of retail theft and defiant trespass, charged by Rush Township patrolman Ryan Oldt. The charges stem from an April 4 incident. Edwards was arraigned on June 5, with bail set at $10,000 percentage. Unable to post the required 10 percent, she was sent to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.
Bail was modified on July 10 to $10,000 unsecured and she was released;
Amy Facyock, 37, of Hazleton, charged by Rush Township patrolman Oldt with two counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft. The charges were filed after an April 4 incident.
Facyock is lodged in the county prison in lieu of $35,000 bail;
Donn M. Walck, 41, of Schnecksville, charged with deceptive business practices, theft by deception, receiving payment and failing to provide service, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He was charged by McAdoo patrolman Frederick Lahovski after a March 20 incident.
Walck was released on his own recognizance.
